Stamped vs. plain vs. pavers
Plain broom-finished concrete is the value option and the easiest to maintain. Stamped concrete costs more per square foot because of the color, mats and hand detailing, but it upgrades the whole look of a yard and still pours as one reinforced slab. Pavers look great and individual units can be lifted and reset, but the joints need sand, they settle unevenly over time, and weeds find them.
Stamped concrete does need its sealer kept up — the sealer carries the color depth and protects the texture. Budget for re-sealing every two to three years and it will look sharp for a very long time.
